Allergic conjunctivitis
Sodium cromoglicate eye drops are particularly useful in allergic conjunctivitis but they must be administered frequently and continuously during the whole period of antigen exposure.
Otrivine-Antistin® contains xylometazoline which is a sympathomimetic. Absorption may result in systemic side effects and possible interaction with other drugs.
Preservative free – only to be prescribed for an identified allergy when a preservative-containing drop is clinically unsuitable. To be reviewed at least every 3 months.
To be prescribed by opthalmologist service only.
