December 2018: Hydrocortisone muco-adhesive buccal tablets: should not be used off-label for adrenal insufficiency in children due to serious risks.
August 2017: Corticosteroids: rare risk of central serous chorioretinopathy with local as well as systemic administration.#
Corticosteroids are useful for some forms of mouth ulcers. Hydrocortisone pellets may be fairly easily placed near or on the ulcer site whilst the Orabase formulation provides an additional mechanical barrier.
