January 2026: Improving Information Supplied with Gabapentinoids (Pregabalin/Gabapentin), Benzodiazepines and Z-Drugs

 

 

Other Benzodiazepines used in sedation include Diazepam, Lorazepam, and Temazepam. They are all classified under "Hospital only" use for this indication.

Sedating antihistamines such as alimemazine and promethazine may also be used for pre-medication sedation, particularly in paediatrics.
